Oats Dosai

Oats Dosai

Ingredients:

Oats – 1 1/2 cups

Rice Flour – 1/4 th cup

Yoghurt – 1/4 th cup

Green chilli – 1 (Optional)

Ginger – small piece

Coriander – handful

Mint – handful(optional)

Salt – 1 tsp

hing – 1/2 tsp

In a bowl, add oats, rice flour, yoghurt and enough water and soak the ingredients for 1/2 hour to 1 hour (minimum 20 minutes). After it is soaked, transfer this to mixie jar, add green chilli, ginger, salt, hing. Add little bit water and grind it to a batter consistency. Now add handful of coriander leaves and mint leaves. Although this is optional, adding coriander leaves and mint leaves enhances the taste. Give a final pulse so that the herbs are grounded and mixed well with the batter. Transfer it to a bowl. The consistency of the batter should be similar to dosa batter. Add water if necessary. Make dosas the usual way. Serve with chutney or milage podi.

Tip: If the dosa batter is very sticky and is difficult to spread it in the tava, then add 2 to 3 tablespoon regular dosa batter (if available) and mix well. Alternatively, add 2 tablespoons of rava (sooji), mix well and make the dosa.

Variations: Add chopped vegetables, onion to make a veggie oats dosa.
